VIJAYAWADA: Budding cricketers of the city now have a major facility to practise the game, as four new turf wickets in the nets were inaugurated at D.V. Krishna Rao Memorial Cricket Academy on the premises of Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium on Wednesday. Municipal Commissioner and KDCA vice-president P.S. Pradyumna inaugurated the first wicket, while Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) and KDCA president Gokaraju Ganga Raju inaugurated the second one. The third and the fourth were inaugurated by Ch. Arun Kumar, promoter and founder-member of D.V. Krishna Rao Memorial Cricket Academy and KDCA vice-president, and Purnima Rao, former Indian woman cricket team captain, respectively. The fourth net is exclusively for woman cricketers.
