Karachi: Pakistan’s present and former Test players have shown mixed reaction to the ICC’s decision to postpone the Champions Trophy that was to be held in Pakistan from September 12. While captain, Shoaib Malik and players Salman Butt and Mohammad Hafeez rued the ICC decision, former Test leg-spinner, Abdul Qadir has supported the postponement decision. “Let’s be honest when our own people are not safe in the country then how can we guarantee the safety of foreigners,” Qadir told reporters. Qadir who appeared in 67 Tests said that the security reservations by the foreign players are genuine and must be accepted by Pakistan. Former Test opener Mudassar Nazar who said the postponement was an expected outcome of the security concerns being expressed by some teams for weeks now. — PTI
