Hospital inspected

TIRUCHI: Health Minister M. R. K. Paneerselvam inspected the K.A.P. Viswanatham Government Medical College Hospital here on Monday.
The Minister visited the out-patient ward, echocardiogram unit, intensive medical care unit and intensive coronary care unit and enquired about the treatment facilities at the hospital. He listened to the grievances of a few patients on the occasion.
He also enquired with the doctors about the clinical facilities available at the Hospital and the quality of treatment being given. Transport Minister K. N. Nehru, who accompanied Mr. Pannerselvam, impressed upon him to provide additional infrastructure facilities to the Hospital, which catered to the health care needs of a large number of people belonging to the economically weaker section of rural areas.
Mr. Nehru utilised the opportunity to inform him about a few proposals sent earlier for ensuring advanced health-care delivery at the hospital. Collector T. Soundiah, Dean of K.A.P. Viswanatham Medical College Hospital P. Ravishankar, Dean-cum-Special Officer of Government Medical College to come up at Perambalur N. Balasubramanian, Deputy Director of Public Health Services V.Veerapandian, and MLAs Anbil Periyasamy and K.N. Sekaran were present.
