Krishna Arts College triumphs
CHENNAI: Krishna Arts College (Coimbatore) defeated Mar Athanasius College (Kothamangalam) in the final league match to clinch the volleyball title in the Bertram tournaments, here on Saturday. Loyola finished third.
Defending champion Panimalar Engineering College was disqualified from the tournament after it failed to produce “satisfactory evidence” about one the educational qualification of one of its player.
At the end of the fifth round in chess, Hari Balu of St. Joseph’s Engineering College leads the table with five points.
The results: Volleyball: Semifinal league: Mar Athanasius (Kothamangalam) bt Loyola (Che) 25 -18, 25-23, 23-25, 25-20; Krishna Arts (Cbe) bt Mar Authansis 25-16, 31-28, 25-23; Krishna Arts bt Loyola 25-15, 25-18,18-25, 25-17.
