Land allocation controversy continues in Adilabad

Staff Reporter

ADILABAD: The controversy related to the allocation of land to hostel for minority girls within the premises of the government junior college for girls, in Adilabad continued to rage even on Friday.

While the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organised a class boycott by students of various colleges in town, the minority wings of political parties like the Congress, MIM and Telugu Desam Party took out a rally in support of the allocation of the land.

Addressing students at respective colleges, the ABVP leaders contended that allocation of two acres of the three acres of college land for the hostel was procedurally wrong.

The land should have been allocated elsewhere, they said.

The minority wings of political parties however, found nothing wrong in such allocation.

They demanded the hostel come up within the premises of the Government junior college.
