Voories College advances

CHENNAI: Voories College, Vellore, defeated Madura College, Madurai, and moved into the quarterfinal of the volleyball event on Thursday in the Bertram tournament being held at the Loyola College.

In chess, at the end of the second round, 20 players are in joint lead with two points each. In all 66 players are in the field.

The results:

Volleyball pre-quarterfinal: Panimalar Engineering College ‘B’ bt St. Joseph’s College, Tiruchi 25-16, 25-17; D.B. Jain College bt New College 25 -14, 25-17; Voories College bt Madura College 25-08, 25-12; Loyola College bt D.G. Vaishnav College 25-11, 25-12.

II round: D.B. Jain College bt Jamal Md College, Tiruchi 25-16, 25-22; Panimalar Engg ‘B’ bt Loyola Hostel 25-07, 25-7; Voories College bt T.S. Narayanasamy College 25-20, 25-19; New College bt Alpha Arts College, Chennai 25-23, 25-15.
