Rupee rebounds

MUMBAI: The Indian rupee rebounded on Thursday to net a gain of 18 paise at 43.52/53 against the greenback on heavy offloading of dollar by banks even as the stock markets slide.

The rupee had fallen by 3.87 per cent in the last six days. It closed at 43.71 on Wednesday.

The domestic unit opened within the striking distance of the psychological 44-mark at 43.72/73 and touched a high of 43.48. — PTI
