COIMBATORE: The Metal Processors Alliance here has alleged that Rastriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) has increased the prices of its products, other than IS standard grade. Association president P. Virendrakumar and secretary R. Ganeshan have said in a press release issued here that earlier the company was supplying IS standard and American standard items with a difference of Rs. 200 to Rs. 500 a tonne. It did not supply materials since August 14 and now increased the rate of American standard materials by Rs. 6000 a tonne (negotiated settled price). The association said the small-scale industries were not supplied with IS standard grade and the differential price of same materials with two different names would lead to loss. The difference in cost between the two materials should be as earlier.
