Vikram, Naveen sparkle

VIJAYAWADA: ACA Secretary’s XI batsmen Vikram Surya Teja (100 n.o.) and Naveen Reddy (87 n.o) dominated the final day’s proceedings against ACA President’s XI in the three-day ACA South Zone u-16 selection match that ended in a draw at Anantapur.

The scores: ACA Secretary’s XI 179 and 333 in 115 overs (Vikram Surya Teja 100 n.o, Naveen Reddy 87 n.o) drew with ACA President’s XI 150 and 123 for two in 20 overs (Naresh Babu 67 n.o).

At Guntur: Prakasam 102 in 55.5 overs (Chandrasekhar four for 30, Sneha Kishore four for 14) vs. WG 87 for four in 36 overs (G. Ravi Teja 56 n.o).

Gnaneswara Rao shines

Andhra skipper Y. Gnaneswara Rao 80 (11 x 4, 1 x 6) was the highlight of the two-day practice match against Mumbai XI at the Rural Development Trust Stadium at Anantapur. The final day’s play was called of one hour before the scheduled close of play after Andhra notching up the lead.

The scores: Mumbai 232 drew with Andhra 233 for four in 70 overs (Gnaneswara Rao 80, L. N. Prasad Reddy 50, Dhawal Kulkarni two for 43, K. Waingankar two for 22).

Flora, NSM post wins

Flora Public School defeated Nalanda Public School by three wickets, while NSM Public School beat Goutham Concept School by nine wickets in the KDCA inter-schools knockout cricket tournament here on Wednesday.

The scores: Nalanda PS 77 in 29.3 overs (K. Bhima Rao five for 18) lost to Flora PS 79 for seven in 13.5 overs (Hardik Patel three for 21, Srikanth two for11).

Goutham CS 22 in 10.5 overs (P. Anirudh six for nine, Shajahan two for three) lost to NSM PS 23 for one in four overs.
