ANU to give 2-year extension to retired teachers

Those who retired by 2007-end can apply


Stringent guidelines issued for selection process

Their services will be utilised in research, consultancy etc.


GUNTUR: Acharya Nagarjuna University has invited fresh applications from university teachers in all faculties to apply for an extension in the faculty they had taught and retired by 2007-end.

They would be given a two-year extension in service, but stringent guidelines have been issued for selection process.

The candidates should be 60 years of age with an experience of guiding at least 25 research papers and six Ph.Ds.

The services of these teachers would be utilized in Research, consultancy, and teaching aspects on the university campus.

They need to send the bio-data to the university Registrar along with the xerox copies of the credentials.

The university authorities on Tuesday surveyed available land on the campus to build new blocks for a Girls’ Hostel, Chemistry Department and a Guest House.

The university registrar and engineer along with Central Public Works Department engineers went round several locations.

Counselling for the I-CET admissions was progressing smoothly, but only 300 students had registered on Tuesday, while counselling for students with ranks between 43,501 and 52,000 would be carried out on Wednesday.
