Rs. 30 lakhs released for road works

GUNTUR: The Guntur Municipal Corporation has decided to supply uniforms to all the eligible students studying in municipal schools. Municipal Commissioner Siddhartha Jain on Tuesday sanctioned Rs. 50 lakhs for distributing a pair of school uniforms to students of the municipal schools in the city. They would be given uniforms, shoes, tie and belt. Four school assistants have been promoted to the post of headmasters and 14 secondary grade teachers to the post of school assistants.

In response to the focus on bad roads in these columns on Monday, the Municipal Commissioner released Rs.30 lakhs for taking up temporary patch works on all the main roads. The GMC also released Rs. 3.20 crores for works on concrete roads, drains and culverts.
