BANGALORE: Mohit Kamat and Ruth Misha emerged as the men’s and women’s singles champions in the M.S. Ramaiah Anandashram State-ranking badminton championship which concluded at Prakash courts here on Tuesday. In the closely contested men’s final, Mohit defeated the former Andhra player, S.D.S. Krishna 21-19, 18-21, 21-19, while the 2007 National junior champion Ruth scored a facile 21-15, 21-16 win over Jacqueline Kunnath in the women’s singles final. Vinay Siddaraj and Eliza Tommy bagged the men’s and women’s singles titles respectively in the veterans’ section. The results (all finals): Men’s singles: Mohit Kamat bt S.D.S. Krishna 21-19, 18-21, 21-19. Women’s singles: Ruth Misha bt Jacqueline Kunnath 21-15, 21-16. Veteran men’s singles: Vinay Siddraj bt K.P. Vasanth Kumar 21-13, 21-16. Doubles: Vinay Siddaraj & K.S.
