Robin Uthappa shines

BANGALORE: Robin Uthappa cracked a whirlwind 123 (96b, 19x4, 2x6) and gave Air India a flying start against Hyderabad Cricket Association XI in the KSCA all-India invitation cricket tournament at the RSI grounds here on Tuesday.

At close, Air India made 211 for two wickets in 40 ovetrs in a match reduced to 69 overs-a-side due to late start following overnight rains.

In another match at KSCA (Turf) grounds, Gujarat CA XI made 225 for six wickets at close against KSCA XI.

At IAF grounds, Dr. D.Y. Patil Academy made 114 for three wickets against UPCA XI while the first day’s play in the match between KSCA Colts and ONGC at Jain International Residential School grounds was washed out.

The scores: Gujarat CA 225 for six in 79 overs ( Bhavik Thakar 77, Sunny Patel 54 , Prathamesh Parmar 45) vs. KSCA XI. Air India 211 for two in 40 overs ( Robin Uthappa 123 , N. Ojha 47) vs. Hyderabad CA:
