Kozhikode: A one-day seminar on making good investments, organised by Geojit Financial Services Limited and United Arab Emirates-based Barjeel Geojit Securities Limited, was held here on Tuesday. Barjeel Geojit Securities director K.V. Shamsudheen handled the classes. The programme was basically intended for Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) who return to the State without financial planning. Topics like the need for financial discipline, financial situation of low and middle income groups, increasing cost of living in the Gulf, strengthening of Indian rupee, increasing cost of living in India, debt trap among NRIs, saving techniques, controlling expenditure, concept of micro-financing, need for systematic investment plan were discussed at the seminar. There was also a question and answer session.
