Two suspected SIMI activists held

KOCHI: The police took into custody two persons suspected to have connections with the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) on Monday evening from near Aluva. Those taken into custody were identified as Abdul Rahim of Uliyanoor and Ashraf of Vedimara.

Both were detained following a tip-off that they were going to attend a meeting. It is learnt that the police party searched the residences of the suspects and took into custody some pamphlets.
