Coimbatore: Mohan Kumar (179), Somu (129) and Santhosh Prabhu (104) made merry as Tirupur CC crushed ABT CC by 562 runs in the Canara Bank-CDCA second division league at the PSGIMS&R grounds here recently. Tirupur posted an all-time record score of 588 for seven in 50 overs and then, thanks to medium pacer Rathinaswamy (five for 6), bundled out the opposition for a paltry 26 in 12 overs. In the first division league, S. Saravanan (114) came up with a timely century to help RKS Cricket Academy score a 182-run win over Red Diamonds CC. The scores: First division: RKS CA 325 for four in 50 overs (S. Saravanan 114, Sathyaraj 58, Venkatesh 56) bt Red Diamonds 143 in 45 overs. Second division: Tirupur 588 for seven in 50 overs (Somu 129, Mohan Kumar 179, Santhosh Prabhu 104, Ambrish 57) bt ABT 26 in 12 overs (Rathinasamy five for 6). Coimbatore qualifiesHost Coimbatore beat Perambalur by seven wickets and qualified for the pre-quarterfinals of the TNCA under-16 inter-district cricket tournament at the SNR Sons grounds here on Monday. Having scored two wins, Perambalur, despite the loss, made it to the next stage with ease. The scores: Perambalur 122 in 39.5 overs (Bharath Chezian four for 27) lost to Coimbatore 123 for three in 28.3 overs (Dheer Bhimani 45).
