Ranchi: Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda was on Monday asked to prove his majority on or before August 25 in the State Assembly. According to a Raj Bhavan release, Governor Syed Sibtey Razi set the time frame in view of the prevailing political situation in the state. “In view of the prevailing situation, you are requested to prove on the floor of the House on or before August 25, 2008, that you still continue to enjoy support of the majority of the members of the Vidhan Sabha,” the release said. The Governor’s directive came hours after the Chief Minister called on Mr. Razi to tell him that he was ready for a floor test after Jharkhand Mukthi Morcha withdrew support to his UPA government. Earlier, the embattled Jharkhand Chief Minister said that he was confident of proving his majority on the floor of the house. “Despite the withdrawal of the support by the JMM, I am confident of my success on the floor. The game will be witnessed in the Assembly and I am prepared for a show of strength,” he told reporters. — PTI
