KOCHI: President of the Hind Mazdoor Sangh (HMS) Thampan Thomas said here on Monday that an anomalies committee should be constituted immediately to set right the anomalies in the new scales of pay for Union government employees . Mr. Thomas said that the revised pay was generally welcomed and demanded that the same yardstick be used by various States and public sector undertakings for revising wages and salaries. He said that though HMS was party to the call for a nation-wide general strike on Wednesday, HMS affiliate unions representing the railway and port sectors had said they would not be participating in the strike. The Tamil Nadu unit of HMS too would stay away from the strike, he said. The national working committee of HMS would meet for three days from August 29 in New Delhi, Mr. Thomas said.
