Vaiko foresees polls before year-end

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: The Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam general secretary Vaiko on Saturday said there was every possibility of Lok Sabha facing elections before the end of this year.

Talking to reporters at a marriage hall in the city where the party general council was under way, Mr Vaiko said it had become exposed that the United Progressive Alliance government at the Centre was able to survive because of “horse trading.” How long this government could go on, he wondered.

“Any time, this government could fall,” Mr Vaiko said, criticising Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in this regard.
