CHENNAI: ‘Telugu Jyothi,’ a bilingual monthly magazine published by Indian Telugu Association (ITA) was launched in the city on Friday. Transport Minister K.N.Nehru released it and Head (Corporate Communications) of Orchid Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Limited Ch.Ram received the first copy at a function. ITA’s founder president and publisher of the magazine B.Nagesh said that the magazine would cover issues in various fields, including politics, cinema and health, to suit readers of all age groups. “We decided to launch it as a bilingual magazine to reach out to the people who cannot read Telugu language. The magazine would have 20 per cent of the articles in English,” he said. It would be circulated in both Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. The Association was founded four years ago to promote Telugu culture and language and also bring together Telugu speaking population in various states. Besides organising cultural programmes, ITA also has a website www.indiantelugu.com, Mr.Nagesh said. Chairman and managing director of Tampcol G.A.Rajkumar and Mr.Ram offered felicitations. The magazine’s editor N.Chandrasekar and associate editor M.Sukumar participated.
