CURIOUS: Schoolchildren on the Red Ribbon Express at the Belgaum Railway Station on Thursday. Belgaum: Minister for Water Resources Basavaraj Bommai has given a call for collective effort to fight the menace of HIV/AIDS. The situation calls for a “health revolution”, he said while inaugurating the Red Ribbon Express exhibition and cultural rally at the Belgaum Railway Station on Thursday. BJP MLAs Abhay Kumar Patil and Sanjay Patil were present. The Red Ribbon Express, a project conceived by the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and being implemented by the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) with support from the Indian Railways, UNICEF and the State Government to spread awareness against HIV/AIDS, arrived at the Belgaum Railway Station in the morning and left for Goa in the evening. With that, the Red Ribbon Express, which arrived in the State at Bangarpet in Kolar district on July 21, completed its Karnataka-leg. Schoolchildren, college students, and volunteers visited the train.
