THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kendriya Vidyalaya (Pattom) and St. Mary’s HS (Pattom) entered the semifinals of the Jaihind Trophy inter-school T20 cricket tournament at the Medical College ground here on Wednesday. In the quarterfinals, Kendriya Vidyalaya crushed Marygiri HS, Kodapannakunnu by 76 runs while St. Mary’s HS scored a thumping 63-run win over Concodia HS. The scores: Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom, 127 for six in 20 overs (Aditya 32, Sachin Suresh two for 24) bt Marygiri HS, Kodapannakunnu, 51 in 41.5 overs (Janardhanan three for 17, George two for 22). St. Mary’s HS, Pattom, 140 for nine in 20 overs (Ajay 39, Sharath 32, Deepak four for 18) bt Concodia HS 77 in 16 overs (Kiran Kumar four for seven, P.S. Kiran three for 19). All-Kerala basketballThe fifth Lourdean Trophy all-Kerala inter-school basketball tournament begins at the Lourdes Public School, Kottayam on Thursday. Twenty-four teams will figure in the event which will be played on a league-cum-knockout basis. Former football international Victor Manjila will inaugurate the five-day tournament.
