Indian-origin actor charged with murder bid

SILICON VALLEY: An Indian-origin hollywood actor has been charged with attempted murder in San Diego after he allegedly stabbed his former girlfriend, Kendra Beebe more than 20 times.

She is reported to be in a critical condition with stab wounds and cuts in the face.

Shelley Malil, 43, was detained on Monday night in Oceanside, outside San Diego, police said. Mr. Malil was born in Kerala in 1964 and migrated to the U.S. at the age of 10. He played Haziz, one of Steve Carell’s co-workers at an electronics retail store in the 2005 comedy ‘The 40-Year-Old-Virgin.’ He also has appeared in dozens of TV shows, including ‘NYPD Blue’ and ‘Scrubs.’ – PTI
