Gokulashtami celebrations begin tomorrow

PALAKKAD: The ‘gokulashtami’ celebrations of Kunnathur Sreekrishna Temple will be held from August 15 to 24.

Apart from temple rituals and special poojas, music and Kathakali recitals will also be organised.

There will be a Veena concert by Padma Rajamani on August 15.

‘Krishnarjuneeyam’ ‘harikatha’ by Tripunithura J. Rao will be the major event on August 18. On August 19, there will be a Chakyarkoothu by Kalamanadalam Radhakrishnan.

Ashtapadhi by Santha Rajagopal is scheduled for August 21 and double Thyambaka by Kallekkulangara Achuthankutty Marar and Poroor Unnikrishnan will be held on August 22. There will be a Carnatic concert by Sadanam Harikumar followed by Kathakali on August 23.

The programmes will conclude with an Ashtapadhi and dance-drama programme by Kalakshethra Foundation on August 24.
