Arun, Daya given top billing

KOCHI: Cousins Arun George and Daya Elsa Jacob have been given the top billing in the boys’ and girls’ singles draw of the Kerala State sub-junior badminton championship which begins at the Rajiv Gandhi indoor stadium here on Wednesday.

Competitions will be held in the under-10, 13 and under-16 age groups and over 300 players will figure in the four-day event.

The championship begins with the under-16 inter-district team championship on Wednesday morning and the open events starts in the afternoon.

The seedings: Sub-junior boys: Singles: 1. Arun George, 2. V.H. Bharath, Sharon Raphael, Pranav Satheesh (all Ekm). Doubles: 1. Arun George & Sharon Raphael (Ekm), 2. V.H. Bharath & Pranav Satheesh (Ekm).

Sub-junior girls: Singles: 1. Daya Elsa Jacob (Ekm), 2. Arathi Sarah Sunil (Ekm), 3. K. Anoosha (Kzd), 4. Anjali Maria Sunil (Ekm). Doubles: 1. Daya Elsa (Ekm) & K. Anoosha (Kzd), 2. Arathi Sarah Sunil & Anjali Maria Sunil (Ekm). — Principal Correspondent
