50 DPCs are already functioning in the seven taluks in the district NAGAPATTINAM: The Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation (TNCSC) has opened 18 more direct purchase centres (DPCs) in Nagapattinam district on Monday for purchase of paddy from the farmers during the current crop season. A senior TNCSC official said that it would open more and more DPCs in the district depending on the requirement and necessity of the farmers. He appealed to the farmers to sell their paddy to the Government. The TNCSC is offering Rs.1,050 per quintal (including incentive) for Grade A paddy variety and Rs.1,000 per quintal for common variety under the decentralised procurement system of the Centre.
