Staff Reporter

It has been organised to mark “August Kranti Divas”

NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Saturday flagged off a motorcycle rally from the Congress headquarters on Akbar Road to Shakti Sthal, the samadhi of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, to express the party’s support to the proposed Indo-US nuclear deal.

The rally had been organised by the Delhi Pradesh Youth Congress on the occasion of “Youth Congress Day” and “August Kranti Divas”.

Among those present at the flag-off ceremony were All-India Congress Committee general secretary Mukul Wasnik and Indian Youth Congress president Ashok Tanwar.

Delhi Pradesh Youth Congress president Anil Kumar said that in support of the nuclear deal the motorcycle rally would travel to each and every block and district of the Youth Congress up to August 14.

The party workers would tell the people that the nuclear deal would help in improving the power supply situation across the country and “be it households, industry or agricultural farms, everyone would benefit from it”.
