Rafath makes merry

Erode: Busan Asian Games gold medallist Rafath Habib of Railways began his Group ‘A’ campaign with two easy wins in the fifth Chinthamani Memorial Open snooker tournament at the S.S. Sports Academy here on Thursday.

The results:

Cosmo Village SA in semifinals

At Coimbatore, Cosmo Village Sports Academy notched up a five-wicket win over South India Manchester Cricket Club and entered the semifinal of the CDCA Golden Jubilee T20 cricket tournament for the Aircel Trophy at the TNAU grounds on Thursday.

Earlier, Coimbatore Raiders defeated Arumugam Cricket Club by 53 runs for a place in the last four.

Quarterfinals: Coimbatore Raiders CC 160 for eight in 20 overs (E. Ravi Prasanna 59, R. Kannan 44. K. Rajesh four for 18 bt Arumugam CC 117 in 16.4 overs (Y. Sunil 39); SIM CC 124 for six in 20 overs lost to Comso Village Sports Academy 128 for five in 18.2 overs.

Pre-quarterfinals: Tirupur CC 147 for eight in 20 overs (Jaganath 48) lost to RKS CA 148 for five in 18.2 overs (Saravanan 44 not out); Coimbatore Friends CC 134 for eight in 20 overs (Praveen Edward 48) lost to Rainbow CC 135 for three in 14.3 overs (R.V.
