Mohd. Sporting beats Chirag

KOLKATA: Mohammedan Sporting beat Chirag United SC 2-0 to conclude its first leg campaign of the Calcutta Football League’s premier division on a winning note at the Salt Lake Stadium.

The win helped Sporting tie current leader Mohun Bagan on 16 points. Bagan still leads the league table on superior goal difference.

Sporting continued to be served well by its foreign strikers, especially its Liberian recruit Theodore Worbeh, who scored in each half to ensure the win. — Principal Correspondent
