Three held for possessing ammonium nitrate; detonators seized

TIRUNELVELI: The police have arrested three persons for allegedly being in possession of detonators and ammonium nitrate without permit.

A patrol team searched a godown of N. Indrakumar of Sanganaperi on Wednesday and recovered 295 wires, 7 bags of ammonium nitrate, each weighing about 50 kg, 131 safety fuse, 121 electric detonators and 200 ordinary detonators.

When the team interrogated Indrakumar and his associates K. Neelan of Meenakshipuram and T. Thirumalaikumar of Thiruvattanallur, it found that they had stocked these materials without licence.
