Thiruvananthapuram: Equipping the differently abled to enhance their employability will be the focus of a workshop to be held here on Thursday under the auspices of the Group of Technopark Companies (GTECH) and the IT fraternity in Kerala. PlatformThe session titled ‘Diversity in workforce: Employing the differently abled’ will provide a platform for corporate leaders, non-government organisations, government officials and media personalities to discuss issues associated with the differently abled in the State. It will include discussions and presentations on the business aspects of employing the differently abled and the role of the Industry and non-government organisations partnership in training them. According to a pressnote issued by GTECH here on Wednesday, the event reflects the concern about the problems of the differently abled persons. It also shows that the corporate sector can become a partner to enhance the economic participation of the differently abled, especially in Kerala. Speakers at the session include Dr. Ajay Kumar, Secretary IT; Dr. Usha Titus, Secretary, Social Welfare Department; Rakesh Gupta, COO, Allianz Cornhill India; Vijayaraghavan, Founder CEO, Technopark; Rama Chari, Director, Diversity and Equal Opportunity and former Head-Diversity programme, Infosys, and Sebi Chacko, Head- HR, South Asia, Thomson Reuters.
