‘Sincere efforts required to improve quality of education’

NAMAKKAL: Collector U. Sagayam called upon teachers to strive hard to improve the quality of education in government schools in the district.

Inspecting various developments works at Erumapatti block on Tuesday, the Collector said that teachers should put in wholehearted efforts to improve the performance of students in government schools in SSLC and higher secondary examinations.

The State government had provided necessary infrastructure facilities in all the schools. Students should take full advantage of the facilities and improve their performance in public examinations.

Mr. Sagayam warned that the district administration would initiate stringent action against salesmen, if irregularities were found in the supply of goods under public distribution system.

All the eligible cardholders should be supplied with rice and other PDS goods.

Inspecting development works in the block, he directed officials to speed up the construction of library buildings and various other works carried out under Anaithu Grama Anna Marumalarchi Thittam. He also inspected the works taken up under National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.While receiving petitions from the people in Sivanaickanpatti, the Collector assured that the administration would initiate immediate steps to redress their grievances.He directed officials to remove the encroachments in Palaiyapalayam area.

Stern action would be taken against the officials, if they issued pattas to poramboke lands, he cautioned.District Rural Development Agency Project Officer P. Renugadevi, District Supply Officer Ravindran and senior officials accompanied the Collector during the inspection.
