Narrow win for FCI

HYDERABAD: Food Corporation of India recorded a two-wicket win over IDL, in the A-Institutions League cricket championship here on Sunday.

The scores: A-Division (two-day) league: R. Dayanand XI 202 (Sai Venkatesh 53, Vishvajith Patnaik 53, D. Prakash four for 28) lost to Continental 204 for four (Shiv Nagaraj 71, Pardhu 59).

Nizam College 115 for eight (A. Regan Anthony five for 40) drew with Central Excise. Match abandoned due to rain.

A-Institutions League: IDL 136 (Anil 45, Narender four for 19) lost to FCI 137 for eight.

BHEL 87 (Ch. V. Narasimha four for 30, Md. Waheed five for 16) lost to NFC 88 for three.

CCMB 97 (Dayanand five for 28) lost to GHMC 98 for six.

Abandoned

Heavy overnight rains forced abandonment of the four matches in the two-day Coromandel King All India Moin-ud-Dowla Gold Cup invitation cricket tournament in Hyderabad scheduled for Monday. All of Monday’s matches will now be played as one-day affairs of 50 overs each on Tuesday.
