VNR-VJIT wins

VNR-VJIT recorded a 72-run win over Srinidhi Engineering College in the inaugural match of the fifth Bandari Srinivas inter-engineering colleges cricket tournament at BSIT in Chevella near here.

Prajith who scored a stroke-filled 50 was named ‘man of the match’.

The scores: VNR-VJIT 146 (Prajith 50, Shashank 48) bt Srinidhi Engg College 74.

TT tournament

The second D. Pentappa memorial State-ranking table tennis tournament will be held at the Victory playground from August 15 to 17.

Sadhbhavana Run

Sadbhavana Run, organised by V. Hanumantha Rao, MP, to commemorate the birth anniversary of late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and spread the message of national integration and communal harmony, will be conducted on August 20 from four different centres in the city — Mahatma Gandhi Statue (Secunderabad), Jawaharlal Nehru Statue (Abids), Babu Jagjivan Ram statue (Nizam College) and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Statue (Tank Bund) — and culminate at Somajiguda Rajiv Gandhi Statue.
