Perambalur
It’s almost over: Work on construction of a combined court complex in Perambalur is nearing completion. PERAMBALUR: Work on the construction of a massive combined court building here, which was taken up at an outlay of Rs.8.75 crores, is nearing completion. The work, which was taken up around September last year, will be completed by September 15 this year. The two-storey building houses seven court halls, seven court offices, separate rooms for the Government pleader, property room, waiting hall for the public, police lock-up and other facilities. The project also includes quarters for the Principal District Judge; Chief Judicial Magistrate; District Munsiff; Judicial Magistrate and give garages. While a majority of the civil works had been completed, electrical fittings were being provided at the building, according to official sources. The Principal District and Sessions Judge R. Dakshinamoorthy, who assumed charge on Monday, inspected the building. Earlier, addressing presspersons, the Union Minister for Communication and Information Technology, A. Raja, said that it was planned to declare open the building in October.
