Punjab National Bank net up 21 %

NEW DELHI: Punjab National Bank has posted an operating profit of Rs. 982.43 crore in the first quarter ended June 30, 2008, against Rs. 933.12 crore during the corresponding quarter last year, a growth of 5.3 per cent. The net profit was up 21 per cent at Rs. 512.40 crore against Rs. 425.06 crore. Total income has increased to Rs. 4,595 crore from Rs. 3,795 crore. — Special Correspondent
