MALAPPURAM: Devaki Amma Memorial Teacher Education College, Chelembra, will organise a national seminar on ‘Inroads into constructive pedagogy’ on Thursday and Friday. Experts from across the country will make presentations at the seminar, which will have added significance in the wake of the controversies over curriculum and related matters. The seminar will discuss at length topics such as cognitive constructivism, social constructivism, and their practical applications. K. Kunhikrishnan, pro-vice-chancellor of Kannur University, will inaugurate the seminar on Thursday morning. K. Dorasami, head of the Department of Teacher Education and Extension, NCERT, will deliver the keynote address on ‘constructivist pedagogy’. N. Balasubramanian, director of Academic Staff College, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, will present a paper on ‘constructivist pedagogy and ICT.’E.R. Ekbote, professor of education from Gulbarga University, Karnataka, will deal with ‘constructivist pedagogy and the role of teacher’ on Friday morning.
