Dravidar Kazhagam cadres stage dharna

SALEM: Members of Salem Urban Dravidar Kazhagam staged a dharna in front of the Head Post Office here to urge Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to find a solution to the Tamil fishermen travails.

The members said that atrocities continued despite many requests from the Tamil Nadu Government.

Three persons, including a 13-year-old girl, were killed when the motorcycle in which they were travelling hit a government bus near Pennagaram on Monday.

Police said that the deceased were identified as Pachayappan (45) and Mathesh (35) and their relative Bhuvaneshwari (13) of Chinna Peramanur.

When the motorcycle negotiated a curve near Eriyur, the bus coming from opposite direction dashed against it killing two on the spot.

Bhuvaneshwari was rushed to the Dharmapuri Government Hospital where she succumbed to injuries.
