VISAKHAPATNAM: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has designated the 40-year-old Dr. V.S. Krishna Government Degree College here as its partner institution as part of Central Government’s Scheme of Convergence between the conventional and open and distance learning systems to increase the gross enrolment ration and enhance employment in various core sectors. This programme was meant to enrich the employability of students along with supplementing the latest and developing areas of information in the curriculum, Principal of Dr. V.S. Krishna Government College S. Atchuta Ramam informed. As the partner institution of IGNOU, the college is offering enhanced access programmes in BCA and Diploma in Nutrition and Health Education (DNHE) and certificate courses in business skills (CBS), computing (CC), teaching English (CTE), rural development (CRD) and tourism studies (CTS). Students of all local and suburban colleges along with the employed and unemployed candidates can join the programmes. Admissions open on August 6 and close on Aug. 31.
