Suspected LTTE militant arrested

RAMANATHAPURAM: In a joint operation by the Ramanathapuram ‘Q’ Branch police, one more suspected militant of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam was arrested on Sunday in connection with the seizure of Global Positioning System and other electronic material at Uppur near here recently.

K.A. Senthil Velan, Superintendent of Police, Ramanathapuram, told The Hindu that the police team surrounded him at the Ramanathapuram bus stand.

He was identified as Krishna Neethan alias Nixon (22), son of Sivasekaran of Trincomalee.
