FAMILY dissent: M. K. Winson and his wife, Lilly, taking out a rally with their eight children in Thrissur on Saturday to protest against the recommendation of the Law Reforms Commission of Kerala.
THRISSUR: The city witnessed a novel protest rally on Saturday. Jesus Youth Pro-life member Mundoor Kollannurtharayil Winson and his wife, Lilly, took out a rally from Naduvilal to Thrissur Corporation office along with their eight children. The rally was to protest against the recommendation of the Law Reforms Commission of Kerala to implement sanctions against families that have a third child. The commission, headed by Justice V.R. Krishna Iyer, has recommended a sanction of Rs.10,000 and the exclusion of free education and healthcare for families that have a third child. “No person or institution shall use religion, region, sect, caste, cult or other inducements for production of more children than permitted.”
