Tamil Nadu Electricity Board has shifted the areas under Assistant Electrical Engineer, Subramaniapuram distribution circle, to the newly established Assistant Electrical Engineer, Town Hall distribution circle. Telephone number of the Town Hall distribution circle office is 2302425.

The areas to be covered under Town Hall distribution circle are West Veli Street, (from Mayor Muthu Bridge to railway station), Heera Nagar, Madura Baskaradas Nagar, Thideer Nagar, Melavasal, Hayat Khan Road, Periyar Bus Stand, railway station, Town Hall Road, RML Road, Pondy Bazaar, West Marret Street, West Perumal Maistry Street, Mohammediyar Lane and Shopping Complex, Bus Stand.
