Naveen claims title

BANGALORE: The top seed, M.A. Naveen completed a 7-5, 6-4 victory over teammate and fifth seed S. Prasanth and claimed the boys’ under-18 singles title in the Raghuveer Tennis Academy’s AITA Talent Series junior championship which concluded at RTA courts, Mysore on Saturday.

The tie was halted by rains on Friday afternoon with Naveen having an edge at 6-5.

In an all-Karnataka girls’ under-14 singles final,

Preethi Gokhale romped to a 6-3, 6-2 win over Preethi Ujjini in the final. Gokhale who took the first set, led 3-1 in the second, when before rains curtailed play on Friday.
