Sudarssanam’s appeal to government
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI: “The State government should appoint a high-level committee for undertaking a survey to find out the reasons for large-scale migration of people from rural to urban areas,” Congress Legislature Party leader D. Sudharssanam said in a statement here on Friday.
The migration had been continuing despite good infrastructure available in villages. The State was one among the few in the country where rural development schemes were being implemented successfully. It was in the forefront in providing drinking water, education and health facilities to villages.
