Workers gherao AI officials

Nedumbassery: The members of the CITU-affiliated Airlines Casual Employees Association (ACEA) gheraoed Air India officials inside the Air India office functioning at the Airline building on the airport campus on Friday. Sources said that about 40 members of ACEA stormed into the office of the Air India office and held the staff hostage for a few hours.

The police team led by the Chengamand CI Sukumaran and SI Jayakumar rushed to the spot and the women staff inside the office were freed immediately.

The police held talks with the workers.

Later, the workers dispersed on the assurance of the police that the airline officials would consider their demands.
