Rs. 17.35 crore given under marriage schemes

TIRUVARUR: Dairy Development Minister U. Mathivanan distributed benefits to the tune of Rs. 17.35 crore to 1,263 beneficiaries under various marriage assistance schemes at Tiruvarur recently.
He said that the State Government had been implementing schemes keeping the development and welfare of women in mind. Recently, it introduced a welfare scheme for destitute women.
It is providing free books, uniforms and cycles to school children and free education to students up to college.
At the function, the minister distributed financial assistance under Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar marriage scheme, Sivakami Ammaiyar two-girl children welfare scheme, Sathyavani Muthu Ammaiyar free sewing machine scheme.
Collector M. Chandrasekaran participated in the function.
