KOZHIKODE: The Central Government Pensioners Association, Calicut, has urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to implement the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission Report at the earliest. In a resolution passed at a meeting held here on Wednesday the pensioners’ forum said they were put to a lot of hardship due to the unwarranted and steady rise in prices of essential commodities. CondolenceThe meeting through another resolution condoled the death of Justice Y.V. Chandrachud former chief justice of the Supreme Court who through his historic judgment had held that ‘pension is a Constitutional right, and not a gratis’.
