Kannan sworn in Additional Judge

Chief Justice of the Madras High Court A. K. Ganguly administering the oath of office to K. Kannan, who was sworn in Additional Judge in Chennai on Thursday.
CHENNAI: K. Kannan was on Thursday sworn in as an Additional Judge of the Madras High Court. With his appointment, the strength of the High Court has gone up to 46, against the sanctioned strength of 49.
At a brief ceremony, Chief Justice A.K. Ganguly administered the oath of office.
Advocate-General G. Masilamani said the 54-year-old Judge was born in Cuddalore. Presidents of the Madras High Court Advocates Association, the Madras Bar Association and the Women Lawyers Association, R.C. Paul Kanagaraj, R. Krishnamurthy and K. Santhakumari, and Chairman of the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, Chandramohan, felicitated Mr. Justice Kannan. Earlier, Additional Judges Justices K. Chandru, V. Ramasubramanian, S. Manikumar and A. Selvam were sworn in by the Chief Justice.
