Case relating to an anticipatory bail plea Inspector did not turn up despite message
CHENNAI: The Madras High Court has ordered non-bailable warrant against the Inspector of Police, Sholavaram police station, on the city’s outskirts, in connection with a case relating to an anticipatory bail plea.
K. Meyyappan and M. Dhana Laxmi of Naranampedu village at Sholavaram had moved the court seeking anticipatory bail following a complaint lodged by Usha that they had trespassed into a property at Red Hills and were in illegal possession of the same. The petitioners said the complaint was false.
Justice R. Reghupathi had earlier issued a bailable warrant against the inspector. When the matter was taken up, the government advocate submitted that the inspector had not turned up despite a telephonic message. He had not left instructions on the case.
Following this, the court ordered issue of the non-bailable warrant and posted the case for August 1.
