MADURAI: Gandhi Museum and Children Wisdom Project will jointly organise painting and essay competitions as part of Independence Day celebrations. Students studying standards I to V can participate in painting competitions on topics ‘peace’ and ‘ahimsa.’ It will be conducted between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on August 9 at Gandhi Museum. For high school and higher secondary students, the competition will be held between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on August 12. There is no entry fee for participants. They should bring their own paper and materials needed for both painting and essay competitions. For more details and topics for essay competition, interested students can call the education officer of Gandhi Museum, R. Natarajan, at 98657 91420.
